I’m a wedding & elopement photographer for laid back couples that value the idea of being married more than just having a party. They want photos that show their true selves and represent their love of nature, and prefer to be more natural than overly posed.
Can you think of a better way to celebrate your engagement with your favorite gals than private yoga instruction and a vintage bohemian bridal shower? Seriously, who doesn’t want to celebrate with sun salutations followed by a party with your very own catered spa appetizers, scrumptious desserts and signature cocktails? I recently teamed up with an amazing group of wedding vendors and this was the inspiration behind our styled vintage bohemian bridal shower.
We chose bright jewel tones which really popped against all the natural woodwork and clean lines of our urban venue, as well as the rustic and vintage furniture and decor. The color palette is reflected in all the details from the yoga mats to the gorgeous bouquets, the yoga wear and the floral arrangements, the vintage decor and place settings, and the signature cocktails and delicious desserts.
This inspired bridal shower started off with our yoga instructor setting an intention for the class. She had all of the ladies write out a message to our bride-to-be, which they would later share. The session was showered with beautiful morning light that filtered through sheer drapes in this cozy venue. After the yoga instruction, the ladies sat at a low natural wood table, adorned with colorful vintage dishes and flatware. Gorgeous boho rugs provided the perfect spot to cozy up to the table. The tablescape was decorated with loose florals and greenery in vivid colors, lending itself to the bohemian theme.
The food table added another rustic element, using an old door as the tabletop and antique treadle sewing machines for the legs. The spread of delicious spa appetizers and delectable desserts filled the table. A hand-lettered menu was created on an old leaded window and the girls’ gorgeous bouquets were added, along with additional brilliant flowers to create a stunning spread.
The intimate lounge area was designed using an eclectic blend of vintage furniture, accessories, lighting and textiles. As the party moved into the lounge, the ladies enjoyed signature cocktails and yummy treats while sharing their messages with our bride-to-be.
This styled bridal shower is full of vintage and rustic charm, with just the right amount of modern bohemian chic!
After the invigorating yoga practice, the ladies move on the party filled with delicious appetizers, desserts and tasty afternoon cocktails! The room is filled with beautiful vintage decor, providing the perfect atmosphere for our bohemian bride-to-be.
As the ladies toast Ciera and dine on all the amazing food, they are adorned with beautiful floral headbands and Ciera wears some loose flowers tucked into her perfect bohemian braid created by Lori Tompos, of Edge Hair & Makeup. Once their bellies are full they move on to dessert in the intimate lounge area, created with vintage pieces from Kimberly Chassie’s, of the Peanut’s Gallery, collection.
After the gals enjoyed their dessert and cocktails, it was time to read the messages Ciera’s bridesmaids wrote to her at the start of their yoga practice.
I want to thank all of these amazing vendors whose hard work paid off. This shoot was recently featured in Swooned Magazine. Click here to check it out! If you’re interested in checking out behind-the-scenes of this styled shoot, you’ll want to read this blog post!
Namaste!
