I’m a wedding & elopement photographer for laid back couples that value the idea of being married more than just having a party. They want photos that show their true selves and represent their love of nature, and prefer to be more natural than overly posed.
I met Halley at Thump Coffee in downtown Bend and we immediately hit it off. When it came time to plan her and Ryley’s engagement photos, they knew they wanted sunshine and blue skies. They chose a Tumalo Creek engagement session, as they both love that little gem of a location so close to town. Halley also mentioned they would be bringing along their dog, Ranger, and that he’s an important part of their family. As a dog lover myself, I just love when they are included in the photo session. We started out at the closed gate and strolled along the creek.
Ryley and Halley met in college and dated for 4 years before Ryley popped the question. He’s a traditional guy and asked Halley’s parents for permission to marry their sweet daughter right before the holidays this year. He knew they would all be gathering for Christmas and he wanted Halley to have great news to share with her family. Ryley worked with a family friend to design the custom engagement ring he gave Halley. He wrapped it up and gave it to her as an early Christmas gift the day before her family arrived to town. Isn’t her ring gorgeous?
These two love adventure and last summer went bungee jumping together! When they were first dating they backpacked around Europe. Basically, they love anything to do with the outdoors, spending time with Ranger, their adorable dog, and their families.
We hiked to the top of a ridge to get to this spectacular view! We waited as the sun dropped behind the gorgeous rock outcroppings to get that perfect light I’m always chasing. I just had Halley & Ryley play a bit, while I captured some candid moments. Halley took Ryley’s hand and danced. I mean, how cute are these two?
As the evening light was fading, we headed back down to the car where Ranger was patiently waiting in Ryley’s truck.
I so enjoyed working with Halley & Ryley (and Ranger) and can’t wait until August for their wedding at Rock Springs Ranch. I know it’s going to be a great one. These two are so great together!
