I’m a wedding & elopement photographer for laid back couples that value the idea of being married more than just having a party. They want photos that show their true selves and represent their love of nature, and prefer to be more natural than overly posed.
Mt. Rainier National Park is full of some of the most beautiful wedding locations in Washington State. Imagine exchanging vows surrounded by lush forests, majestic mountains, and picturesque alpine meadows. Whether you dream of a hiking ceremony atop Mount Fremont or a serene lakeside gathering at Reflection Lakes, Mt. Rainier National Park provides the perfect setting for an unforgettable wedding experience! I’m a Washington elopement photographer who loves Mt. Rainier National Park, so I’ve written this go-to guide on the best Mt. Rainier wedding locations in hopes that it will help you narrow down your search!
Mt. Rainier National Park is home to the tallest mountain peak in the Cascades Range, Mt. Rainier. Surrounded by beautiful wildflower meadows, alpine rivers, waterfalls, wildlife, and pine forests. Mt. Rainier rises over 14,000 feet above sea level and is an active, snow-capped volcano. Home to some of the best hiking, mountain climbing, backpacking, and camping in Washington, Mt. Rainier National Park is one of my favorite places to explore with adventure elopement couples!
Mt. Rainier National Park is accessible via four entrances, each offering unique views, experiences, and wedding locations!
This entrance features access to the Skyline Trail and Paradise Meadows Trails. Offers beautiful waterfalls, wildflower meadows, glaciers, and unobstructed views of Mt. Rainier. (Open Year Round)
This entrance features access to the park’s temperate rainforest, Mowich Lake, and the Carbon Glacier. Offers beautiful mountain biking and hiking trails. (Open Year Round)
This entrance features access to Sunrise Area, Visitor Center, and White River Campground. Popular trails here include Silver Forest Trail and Mt. Fremont Lookout Trail. Offers stunning views of wildflower alpine meadows and Mt. Rainier. (Open July – September)
This entrance features access to the Grove of the Patriarchs Trail, Reflection Lakes, and the popular Ohanepecosh Campground and Visitor Center. Offers lower crowd levels and beautiful views of Sylvia Falls and Martha Falls. (Open May – October)
With sweeping views of Mount Rainier, the Cascades, and the Olympic Mountains, Mount Fremont Lookout Trail is a spectacular wedding location for couples who want an epic hiking elopement. This nearly 6-mile, moderate trail features a fire lookout at the top, built in the 1930s. This hike also passes Frozen Lake and many cliff lookout points.
Couples can access the Mount Fremont Lookout Trail via the Sourdough Trail, which begins at the Sunrise Visitor Center. Parking is available at the Sunrise Visitor Center from July to September but fills up quickly, especially in Summer.
Silver Forest is an easy hiking trail that winds through wildflower meadows and towering pine trees. Offering unobstructed views of Mt. Rainier and Emmons Glacier, couples can say their vows at one of two observation platforms or anywhere along the 2-mile trail. If you and your partner are not used to high elevations but still want an adventurous hiking elopement experience (and amazing views of Mt. Rainier), Silver Forest Trail is the perfect ceremony location for you!
Silver Forest Trail can be accessed via the Sunrise Rim Trail at Sunrise Visitor Center. Parking is available at the visitor center and is open from July to September. Parking fills up fast at Sunrise, so plan to arrive early to secure a spot!
Tipsoo is a serene subalpine lake surrounded by lush wildflower meadows in Summer and colorful Fall foliage in Autumn. Additionally, while water activities are not permitted on Tipsoo Lake, the beautiful wilderness that surrounds it offers many great hiking trails and wildlife viewing opportunities. Tipsoo Lake is among the best Mt. Rainier wedding locations if you dream of a lakeside wildflower elopement or cozy autumn elopement.
Wildflowers usually reach peak bloom around late July to mid-August, and fall foliage tends to be at its brightest in late September. Couples can access Tipsoo Lake via the Tipsoo Lake Trail and Sunrise/White River Entrance.
With incredible views of the Tatoosh Mountain Range, Reflection Lakes stands out as one of the most beautiful Mt. Rainier wedding locations, thanks to its crystal-clear waters that reflect the rugged volcanic peak of Mt. Rainier. Surrounded by a 3-mile hiking loop, Reflection Lakes is a great Summer and Fall elopement location if you and your partner love hiking and picnicking.
Couples can access Reflection Lakes via the Stevens Canyon Entrance or the Nisqually/Paradise Entrance. Parking is available near the Lakes Trailhead.
A popular 5.5-mile loop, Skyline offers closeup views of Mt. Rainier and the Nisqually Glacier. On clear days, hikers can see as far as Mt. Hood. This hike is considered difficult; however, if you and your partner are experienced hikers, this is a great ceremony location!
Couples can access the Skyline Loop via the Nisqually/Paradise Entrance. Couples can access the trail from the Paradise Visitor Center parking lot. Parking fills up fast, especially in Summer! Be sure to plan ahead so that you have enough time to secure a spot!
