I’m a wedding & elopement photographer for laid back couples that value the idea of being married more than just having a party. They want photos that show their true selves and represent their love of nature, and prefer to be more natural than overly posed.
When Maggie and Katrina envisioned their wedding day, they wanted a perfect blend of intimacy, family, and adventure. They found their dream setting amidst the beautiful backdrops of Central Oregon, where their love story unfolded in a way that was uniquely theirs. The adventure began with a sunrise session at the Suttle Lake Lodge, leading into a ceremony and intimate celebration at Katrina’s grandmother’s house in Sisters, Oregon.
Maggie & Katrina started their wedding day with a sunrise adventure session at Suttle Lake. The morning was crisp, with the calm water reflecting the vibrant fall colors and a gentle fog hovering over the lake. They wanted some photos done in nature at one of their favorite spots before the day’s festivities began.
The serene environment was perfect for capturing intimate moments before the day’s festivities began. The couple, dressed in cozy fall attire, strolled along the eastern shore, sipping lattes and snuggling, their joy and love shining through every frame.
Pro tip: If you’re seeking some alone time ahead of your wedding, an adventure session can be a wonderful add-on!
Suttle Lake Lodge is situated on the eastern side of Suttle Lake in Central Oregon. It’s a beautiful lodge with various spaces to host your wedding and cabins for your guests to stay, making it a full wedding weekend option. It’s proximity to many wilderness trails makes it the perfect place for the adventurous who want some luxury on their wedding day. The resort features a boathouse, dock, lodge and lake for great photo opportunities on the property, too. This spot offers full-service catering and add-ons to create the perfect wedding day for you and your guests.
Personally, I love the sunrise at the lake because the water is calm, and most day users have not arrived yet. It really was the perfect way and time to start Maggie & Kat’s wedding day, and it could be for you, as well!
After the sunrise session, we met at Kat’s grandmother’s house. This Tuscany-style house, set on a beautiful acreage overlooking the Three Sisters Mountains, was the perfect backdrop for their intimate wedding. The mountain views were seriously amazing!!
The wedding had beautiful boho decor and colors. The ceremony took place under an octagon arch draped in vibrant orange fabric, surrounded by the warm hues of fall. Maggie and Katrina’s daughters played a special role, tossing flowers as the brides made their way down the aisle.
Kat’s grandmother and mother escorted her down the aisle while Maggie’s father played the guitar as guests arrived. He then walked Maggie down the aisle along with her mom. I loved how they included their loved ones in the ceremony.
Kat’s attire featured a stunning bowtie adorned with jewel-toned peacock feathers, adding a touch of whimsy to her look. The wedding party, dressed in shades of burgundy, burnt orange, brown, and cream, perfectly complemented the boho fall themes.
The couple found beautiful ways to honor loved ones who had passed, which was so sweet and emotional. They had a small memorial with photos, and Kat and her uncle paid tribute to her late father with a symbolic golf swing during the ceremony.
After the ceremony, Maggie and Katrina celebrated with a champagne toast and chocolates, setting the stage for some speeches from their loved ones. We then did some photos with the family and, of course, some more couple’s portraits with the stunning backdrop, before I departed for the day. It was the most incredible day and I was so honored to be there to capture it all!
