I’m a wedding & elopement photographer for laid back couples that value the idea of being married more than just having a party. They want photos that show their true selves and represent their love of nature, and prefer to be more natural than overly posed.
Five Pine Lodge in Sisters, Oregon served as the destination for Jaime & David’s Central Oregon winter elopement in February. They were coming over from the valley to have an intimate celebration with Jaime’s parents. When we chatted just a few days prior to their wedding, I sent a picture of a wide open field with a gorgeous Cascade Mountain view as a possibility for photos and the ceremony. Of course, the weather here can change at the drop of a dime and a huge snowstorm rolled in on the day of their elopement. While the mountain view was gone, the snowstorm created the most ethereal ceremony backdrop for these two. The red shawl Jaime wore, along with David’s burgundy vest and tie, really popped against the blanket of white. I arrived just as Jaime was wrapping up hair & makeup. Her cabin at Five Pine Lodge was so beautiful and the back door opened out to the pine trees covered in snow. Jaime’s mom was there, helping her get into her dress before meeting David for their first look right at the door.
Jaime peers through the door as she waits for David to see her for the first time. As the snow storm was blasting in, we decided to do the first look on the front porch of the cute cabin Jaime got ready in, which will also serve as their romantic honeymoon suite. These cabins at Five Pine Lodge are awesome. The soaking tub is pretty amazing! One day I’m booking a romantic evening here for me and my guy!
The snow was really picking up by the time we got to the meadow for their intimate elopement ceremony. While the mountain views were totally socked in with the weather, the snowstorm was absolutely beautiful! As we were walking out, a hawk flew over, which I’d say is a sign of luck! We walked out with Jaime’s parents and their officiant, and picked the perfect spot for them to say their vows to one another. After the ceremony, we did some more portraits while the family and officiant headed back to Five Pine Lodge to warm up. These two were absolute troopers in the cold and snow! There was even a scary moment when David’s ring slipped off of his finger because of the cold, but luckily we found it. Phew!
I had such a wonderful time photographing Jaime and David’s gorgeous Central Oregon winter elopement and getting to know these two a bit. The snowstorm was amazing with all the red accents and Jaime’s bouquet was seriously so epic! Congratulations you two! I absolutely love winter elopements and weddings, so if you are thinking about having one, get in touch with me as I would love to help you plan an epic elopement day! Here are a few other winter weddings to give you some ideas. A gorgeous intimate wedding at Sunriver Resort and another epic winter snowy wedding at Five Pine Lodge.
Thanks to Five Pine Lodge in Sisters for hosting their elopement, Woodland Floral for providing the stunning bouquet and boutonniere and Kate Tuma of Artistry by Kate for the gorgeous hair and makeup.
