I’m a wedding & elopement photographer for laid back couples that value the idea of being married more than just having a party. They want photos that show their true selves and represent their love of nature, and prefer to be more natural than overly posed.
If you’re dreaming of an intimate, relaxed, and beautiful celebration with the sand between your toes, then an Oregon beach wedding in Lincoln City might be exactly what you’re looking for! Lindsey & Jake wanted a stress-free, meaningful day surrounded by their closest family and friends—and that’s exactly what we created together!
Lindsey and Jake met at a bar. Lindsey really didn’t feel like going out that night, but after some convincing from a friend (a mutual friend of both of them!), she decided that it might not be too bad of an idea. When she got there, she met Jake and the rest is now history!
Jake proposed on the edge of the ocean in Anacortes, WA, during a trip with his family. I love how their story came full circle—from getting engaged by the water to getting married by the water along the Oregon Coast. At first, they wanted to have a giant wedding, but as they got engaged during a time when the world needed to stay at home, and as time went on, they realized that eloping was the way to go.
They wanted less stress and a day that was focused on them rather than worrying about entertaining all those guests. They wanted to be in the moment, and I’m so glad their day was exactly what they were hoping for.
And if you’re still trying to decide whether you’d like to elope or have an intimate wedding, this blog will walk you through all the pros and cons to help you!
One of the first things Lindsey, Jake and I tackled together was finding the perfect VRBO for their Oregon beach wedding. They envisioned a cozy celebration that didn’t involve traveling between multiple locations. We found a stunning beach house right in Lincoln City through VRBO, which allowed them to host everything—the ceremony, dinner, dancing, and all festivities—right at the house. This not only simplified logistics but also provided an ideal backdrop and built-in weather backup plan (that luckily we didn’t need!)!
As an elopement photographer, one of my top recommendations for couples planning a wedding with more than a handful of guests is to rent a vacation home through VRBO that specifically allows events. This ensures everything runs smoothly, legally, and without any surprises—like having to relocate mid-event. Plus, it simplifies logistics, provides privacy, and gives you a built-in backup plan in case of unpredictable Oregon weather!
The day began casually, with Lindsey and Jake enjoying coffee and pastries at their beach side home, surrounded by family and friends who helped them prepare for the day. Lindsey had her hair and makeup lovingly done by her best friend and her sister-in-law. One of the sweetest moments was Lindsey’s emotional first look with her dad. Capturing heartfelt, genuine reactions is always one of my favorite parts of the day!
Lindsey and Jake decided to wait for the aisle to see each other. Jake’s reaction was absolutely priceless and you could just see and feel the love he has for his bride. Their ceremony was officiated by a close family friend, making it deeply personal, filled with laughter, tears, and beautiful sentiments that honored their love, their faith, and Jake’s two daughters who absolutely adore Lindsey.
The entire day was thoughtfully designed around their boho-inspired vision, with blush pink, champagne hues, and sage green accents. Jake’s aunt, a former wedding planner, brought everything together beautifully, from decorations to Lindsey’s gorgeous bouquet. Lindsey rocked Converse sneakers, adding a fun, authentic touch to her style.
After the ceremony, we captured dreamy sunset portraits on the beach. One of my absolute favorite moments was when a surprise sneaker wave rolled in, soaking Lindsey, but Jake immediately jumped over the wave reaching out to help her! It was so much fun to witness and capture!
As night fell, the celebration continued back at the house with dinner, drinks, and dancing. The evening was filled with so much love and happy tears during the speeches. The couple shared a first dance and afterwards everyone slipped into something more comfy for the dance party. The couple brought out some foam glow sticks, creating a lively, fun atmosphere as everyone danced the night away on the beach deck under the stars. It was the perfect end to their dreamy Oregon beach wedding day!
“100/100 we absolutely LOVED Erica!!! She was so much fun, she was so helpful with things even other than photos!! She made our entire party feel so comfortable!! Every photo I asked her to take, she was on it! She felt like a close friend within minutes. I could go ON AND ON you will not be disappointed.”
