I’m a wedding & elopement photographer for laid back couples that value the idea of being married more than just having a party. They want photos that show their true selves and represent their love of nature, and prefer to be more natural than overly posed.
Jenna and Tyler’s intimate cabin wedding at Lake Creek Lodge this past winter was nothing short of magical! This dreamy venue, nestled along the Metolius River in Camp Sherman, Oregon, about 38 miles from Bend, offered the perfect rustic charm for their special day. With snow blanketing the ground, the setting was a winter wonderland, and I loved being there to capture it!
I absolutely LOVE Lake Creek Lodge! It’s the ideal venue for an intimate wedding, especially when the grounds are covered in snow. This rustic lodge features charming cabin rentals and a cozy atmosphere that’s perfect for couples who want to offer their guests a whole wedding weekend experience. It’s a great idea during the winter, so guests can safely rest up and not worry about driving back home or to other lodging during the night this time of year.
The lodge can host up to 40 guests in the winter and expands to accommodate up to 115 guests in the summer. If you’re into chill nature vibes and cozy cabins, Lake Creek Lodge is the place for you!

Despite a crazy ice storm hitting the Bend area and much of Oregon, Jenna and Tyler’s wedding went on beautifully. Nearly all of their guests braved the weather to join the celebration. Their day was a gorgeous blend of rustic winter lodge aesthetics with rich jewel tones and personal touches. Tyler wore a traditional Hawaiian lei, adding a unique cultural element to their celebration.
They also incorporated a unity ceremony—the Kintsugi ceremony, a Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold. This served as a beautiful reminder that even though we go through hardships together, it’s what makes your love and bond stronger.
A particularly heartwarming moment I LOVED was when Jenna’s mom, a talented florist from Sisters, OR, delivered the stunning bouquet she crafted for her daughter. It was a special mother-daughter moment that I was thrilled to capture.
Jenna is actually a sign language interpreter, and several of her good friends are deaf. I loved how they ensured her deaf friends were included and comfortable by having two interpreters during the ceremony and speeches to make sure they were heard and seen. It was such a thoughtful touch that truly showed the couple’s love and respect for their friends and family.
Jenna and Tyler opted for my 8-hour intimate wedding package, and they also added an engagement session! For couples with more than 20 guests, I require an actual wedding venue, whether it’s a state park with a reservable space or a lodge, to ensure guaranteed access. That makes the process much less stressful for the couple and all the vendors!
With full access to me for their wedding day, we kicked things off with their engagement session and a detailed client questionnaire to build their timeline and cover all important details.
We even met the day before for the rehearsal at the Camp Sherman Community Hall, just 0.3 miles from Lake Creek Lodge. This pre-wedding meet-up was helpful as I hadn’t photographed at their ceremony venue before and wanted to be fully prepared. Throughout the entire time leading up to the wedding, I was there to answer any questions and offer vendor recommendations!
“Erica is an absolutely wonderful photographer. She is incredibly talented in her craft – all of her photos are gorgeous. She communicates clearly and openly and she went the extra mile when she shot our engagement photos and our intimate winter wedding in Camp Sherman. Can’t recommend her enough!!”
