I’m a wedding & elopement photographer for laid back couples that value the idea of being married more than just having a party. They want photos that show their true selves and represent their love of nature, and prefer to be more natural than overly posed.
Emily and Jacob’s Aspen Hall wedding was my first of the 2017 season, and was it ever a beautiful one! Emily’s gorgeous gown was full of lacy detail with a sweetheart neckline and her bridesmaids all wore shades of cream, with baby’s breath flower crowns. The color palette of white, cream, pale lavender and greens flowed with the vintage rustic details throughout the day.
It was a warm, sunny morning when I arrived at Emily’s parents home in Bend. The girls were all wearing beautiful floral satin robes and hair and makeup was underway. I worked on documenting the details and snapping candid photos of the ladies getting ready. Meanwhile, Jacob and the guys were at his and Emily’s home. My second photographer, Gwen, worked with the guys to capture their getting ready photos.
Once the guys were dressed and the girls hair and makeup was complete, it was time to head to their venue, Aspen Hall. The girls all arrived a bit before the guys so Emily could get dressed. Once there, the guys also needed to pin on their boutonnieres, with help from the girls.
The details throughout the reception hall really fit with the theme. Vintage china and stemware adorned rustic farm tables decorated in greenery and pale florals, topped with pretty fabric napkins tied with twine. A beautiful distressed white table topped with lace doilies and mason jars filled with baby’s breath greeted guests at the doorway, inviting them to sign the guest book.
We took the opportunity after their first look to get some portraits of the two of them before doing the wedding party photos. Emily and Jacob wanted as many formal portraits out of the way before the ceremony, so they could enjoy some of their cocktail hour with their guests.
We headed back to the venue to grab Emily’s gorgeous bouquet before taking a few more portraits.
Before it was time to photograph the wedding party, I had to make sure to get some bridals of Emily, looking absolutely stunning! While I did this, Gwen grabbed some more portraits of Jacob.
It was time to gather the wedding party and get their formal photos done. We used the natural pine forest behind Aspen Hall, which really fit with the whole vintage rustic chic Bend wedding theme!
The ceremony site was ready, with more vintage rustic chic Bend wedding details. Mason jars filled with baby’s breath lined the aisle. An archway draped with chiffon and greenery, with a whitewashed table provided the alter for the couple. As guests began to arrive, they were handed birdseed to toss at the happy couple.
Cocktail hour was underway and Emily & Jacob spent time mingling with their guests. Lawn games were spread around and a photo booth was set up and provided many laughs that night!
After the guests have all eaten, it’s time for the toasts. This is always such a heartfelt part of the day and I am usually in tears by the end. Emily’s father started the toasts and then every single member of the wedding party said a little something. You can tell how much these two are loved by their friends and family.
After the toasts, Emily & Jacob cut their cake so that guests could enjoy dessert while they did their first dances. Then it was time to head outside for the bouquet and garter tosses!
As they went to do the garter toss, Emily remembered she forgot to put her garter on. Jacob decided to improvise and grabbed a bean bag from the game of corn hole to use. It had everyone laughing!
Now it was time for the band, Precious Byrd, to take over the entertainment. They put on quite a show and had the dance floor packed!
The band took a little break and the party headed outside for some fresh air, cigars and to refresh their drinks.
As the band takes the stage again, the guests head back inside to dance the rest of the night away! I had so many fun dance floor photos that I had a really hard time narrowing it down to a few favorites here.
Emily & Jacob’s vintage rustic chic Bend wedding was such a fun day. They are amazing people and have such a great group of friends and family. It was a pleasure getting to know them both and I wish them a lifetime of happiness. Their day wouldn’t have been complete without all the wonderful vendors that helped make it happen.
